After being jilted on Valentine’s Day, you’d think we would learn. But having tasted the goods, we couldn’t help but get suckered in by every HTC Thunderbolt launch date rumor — only to have our hopes dashed each time its release was inexorably pushed further and further back. Now, a leaked email and an HTC regional sales manager’s tweet (whose account has subsequently been deleted) claim our lust for Verizon’s first 4G handset will finally be quenched on March 17th. HTC posted on Facebook that the official launch date will be announced “soon, ” and four days from now would certainly qualify. We just hope Best Buy and Big Red realize they face a legion of disappointed (and drunken) St. Patty’s Day revelers should they delay Thunderbolt delivery day yet again. Let’s hope the luck of the Irish finally gets us our LTE.

The 10.1-inch netbook doesn’t have Intel’s fresh Atom N570 processor, but it has all the other netbook essentials, including an Atom N455 CPU, Windows 7, 1GB of RAM, a 1.3 megapixel camera, WiFi, and three- and six-cell battery options. However, like most of the other Classmate PCs, the Classmate+ won’t be available directly to consumers — they will be sold in bulk to educational institutions or agencies, primarily in the developing world. Vancouver (AFP) – Defending champion Shaun White is ready to soar to new heights in snowboard halfpipe, but the top money-spinner among Vancouver Winter Olympians also knows the dangers in pushing the limits.

The 23-year-old American redhead will attempt his most daring trick yet, the gravity-defying Double McTwist 1260, next Wednesday in a bid to defend Olympic gold.

“The Double McTwist is the toughest trick I’ve ever attempted,” White said.

“When I land it, it feels like the first time I laid it down. It has been an amazing finisher for my run. It’s the best trick I’ve ever done.”

White landed his unprecedented move, an inverted aerial in which he flips head over heels twice while spinning 3 1/2 times and holding the board, to win the Winter X Games two weeks ago.

“It’s such an amazing trick. I’d feel disappointed if I didn’t include it,” White said. “I’ve got a pretty mean run coming up. If I put it down, I’m confident I’m going to land a pretty high score.”

But White struck his head in a hard fall on the first try at the X Games.

“I’d be lying to say that crash didn’t shake me up,” White said. “My very first thought was I had to shake it off. You can build a weird self-conscious thing in your head unless you go back and do it.

“I feel confident to take a hit like that and bounce back.”

With US halfpipe boarder Kevin Pearce knocked into a coma after a spill attempting a double flip trick, some wonder if White and his rivals have not pushed too far into the danger zone.

“The sport hasn’t gotten more dangerous. It was dangerous to begin with,” White said. “We fall. We get back up. It’s part of what we do.”

White called the idea of a double cork ban “outrageous” and sees the sport evolving well.

“It’s not just going up there and being a daredevil. There’s a plan about it,” he said. “The progression of tricks is on the right path. Hopefully we haven’t hit the ceiling yet.”

Halfpipe has not hit a popularity limit either, drawing huge interest from a young generation.

“I do think we’re definitely being taken seriously,” he said. “I heard we were second (in TV ratings) to women’s figure skating. I guess we’re becoming a premier event.”

That helped White make about eight million dollars in endorsement deals last year, the king among Winter Olympians according to Forbes magazine and a far cry from youthful days of hot plate meals in small hotels.

“Five of us would be in Motel 6 making food and setting off a fire alarm. It’s where I came from. I wouldn’t trade it for anything,” White said. “Making a great living in the sport feels great. I’ve earned it.”

Riches have not made the dude rude, however.

“I’m pretty sure I would have been corrupted by this age if I was going to go down that path,” White said.

“Money hasn’t changed me. I have to go home and clean up after the dog. I’m just a relaxed normal guy.”

One who might even unveil some new tricks in Vancouver.

“There might be a couple things,” White warned. “I’ve always got a little something extra.”

Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs has injured his right arm (fracture) and will be out for up to four weeks. He will miss the upcoming Carling Cup final against Aston Villa and the Champions League match against AC Milan. And United confirmed on Thursday that Giggs is facing a month on the sidelines, meaning he’ll miss the Carling Cup final against Villa on 28 February.

For the first time this year, Catania got out of the drooping zone thanks to the win over Lazio in Rome, while Atalanta also boosted up their chances thanks to the minimal win over Bari. The two sides shouldnt have gotten in this dangerous situation, but all of the manager changes and the lack of luck in some points make this a realistic outcome for them. Still, the things are starting to look up for both of them and this game could be one of those that can push the season in a completely opposite direction.

Mihajlovic takes the biggest credit for Catanias revival

And its a fact. The team did play well even before he had came, but they just couldnt turn the good play into the points. Games in which Catania had been better rivals for nothing kept on rolling. Still, this team is full of players from Argentina who never give up and the Mihajlovic himself was known for his determination and hard, enduring nature. I love these buns! They come frozen (as most Food for Life breads do) and there are some hard spots on some of them from the freezing process, but overall they are delicious, filling, voluminous and super healthy. They are also on the dry side, but I’ve found 15 seconds in the microwave makes them chewy and moist again.

Mango fries. I’ve found the best way to “deal” with mangoes is to peel them with a veggie peeler and then cut off the fruit in big slices. All the criss-cross dicing methods waste too much flesh on the skin and it’s hard to get strips that way. Perhaps a video is in store soon…

Danica Patrick Sports Illustrated Cover ‘Indy, Yes She Can’ (Photos)

The Brickyard will host the Indy 500 on Sunday, May 25th. Danica Patrick will be one of 33 drivers vying for a big win. She is currently enjoying her career high fifth place points ranking following her first victory in Japan in April, making her the first female winner in the history of the Indy Racing League.

Danica, 5′2″ and 100 pounds, has been voted the sport’s most popular driver three years running. The 26 year old is poised to make history again this weekend, and would love to take the traditional swig of milk after winning the sports biggest race. It would be the motor sports story of the year and a spectacular achievement by a woman if Danica wins the race. She will start in fifth position.

Patrick has raced three times at the Brickyard, finishing in the top ten each time. She drives for Andretti Green Racing. Co-owner Kevin Savoree said:

When we considered Danica, we talked about that she could win the Indy 500, and that’s why we hired her. She had a lot of marketability, but we hired her because she could win there.”

How does Patrick excel at a track that is considered among the most technically demanding because of its flat layout, sharp corners and 225-mph speeds? According to Kim Green:

We’ve given her cars even this month that were maybe too unstable, and she doesn’t come back ranting and raving. I’m so impressed with how calm she is.”

On Sunday at Noon EST over 300,000 race fans will be on hand to witness the race. Danica doesn’t claim to be psychic but she had this to say about her chances of winning:

I’m not the only one who says it could be my year. But I’ve got a good feeling.”

Petite: You major focus should be to elongate your body. Choose jeans that are fitted. Jeans with a little stretch in them will be perfect. Stay away from wide leged jeans because they will not improve your proportion. Also stay away from short or a medium waisted jean. Low rise and hip huggers are okay only if they don’t make your legs look short. On the other end of the spectrum, steer away from high waisted jeans because they will only make you look shorter than you are. To give your legs an even longer appearance have the hem line hit the floor and wear heels.

Curvy Lower Body: To make your hips appear smaller stick to hip-huggers and low rise jeans. Darker jeans will help minimize your lower half and a boot cut, flared leg, or wide leg will proportion your figure. The key for jeans to look the best is to have a long hem line. Your hemline should at least hit the bottom of your ankle and if you plan on wearing heels the hem line should hit the floor when standing flat footed. Seven jeans provide a great fit.

Tall and Slender: If you are tall and slender your goal is to give the illusion of curves. To give the illusion of curves wear cigarette jeans or tapered jeans. Because they are closer to the calves they will make your hips look wider and give the illusion of curves. Your goal is to stay away from anything too tight. Tight jeans will make your legs look even skinnier. Also stay away from anything too loose because it will not make your appearance look proportional. Hip-huggers and relaxed fit jeans are acceptable. Boot-cut and slight flares will also create the illusion of curves.

Full Rounded Body: To hide your middle portion, choose a jean that is higher waisted. A pair of relaxed, medium-waist jeans with straight legs is perfect for your figure. You also want jeans that follow the shape of your body but do not hit every curve. Also stay away from jeans with too much stretch and is fitted from waist to leg. These will not be flattering for your body type. If you are trying to camouflage your middle section stay away from jeans that that tie, have pleats or an elastic waistband, or are decorated in front. These will only draw attention to your belly.

Big Bottom: If you have a bigger bottom, watch out for pockets! Pockets that are small, too high or close together, or decorated can make a large bottom look even bigger. Also, choosing jeans that have no pockets at all will draw attention to that area. The best jeans for you will be those that have wide, long pockets that rest wide and low on your bottom. Low rise jeans with a flared leg will give you the illusion of a smaller behind and balance out your shape.
